Jewish Woman's Personal Calendar
According to Halachic Rulings of the Alter Rebbe's Shulchan Aruch and Chabad Custom
Prepared under the guidance of Rabbi Sholom Ber Chaikin
Preface to revised edition

Our milestone publication of the Jewish Woman's Personal Calendar was very well received by families who began using it, by Taharas Hamishpacha instructors, and by Torah scholars in general. This revised edition incorporates feedback from those who took time to contact us with comments and suggestions. The result is a simplified and more practical format.
The calendar is laid out according to the Hebrew months, with the civil calendar date noted on each day. It again covers 14 months. There are improvements in the graphics, changes in the format of the symbols used, and clarifications of and additions to the text digest. |

We invite further critique that will enable us to improve upon this worthy endeavor, thereby enhancing the observance of this core mitzvah by families the world over.
The Rebbe always encouraged the meticulous observance of the laws of Taharas Hamishpacha, emphasizing the necessity of ongoing study and review of these laws. May the heightened observance of this mitzvah effected by this publication hasten the coming of Moshiach Tzidkainu

Overview
What is this Luach?
A luach is a Hebrew Calendar. The purpose of this luach is to guide you in calculating and recording the times required to abstain from marital relations in anticipation of a period.
In-depth study with a qualified instructor and periodic review of all the laws of Taharas Hamishpacha remain essential.

 |
 |
Why is it important to use a Hebrew calendar?
Halacha (Jewish law) mandates the use of a Hebrew calendar to calculate the times required to abstain from marital relations in anticipation of a period. The Hebrew date begins at shkiah (sunset) and ends the following day at shkiah (whereas the civil date, based on the standard solar calendar, begins and ends at midnight). All menstrual calculations are only according to the Hebrew calendar. |
Calculations based on any other calendar are inaccurate. Never use the standard solar calendar for this purpose although, for reference only, this personal calendar includes civil dates.
